How the calculation works
Throw ratio relates lens-to-screen distance to the full native image width. For a narrower image format, we account for the unused sides of the native frame. The estimate assumes a centered image, matching source format, no keystone correction and no digital shrinking or stretching. Optical lens tolerances can change the final position.
Distance = full optical-frame width × throw ratio.
A square or 4:3 image may require a custom PC resolution or a supported projector format. Changing this selector does not guarantee that every input mode is supported.
