SimBooth 1 vs SimBooth 2: Compare the Exact Room Plan

Compare SimBooth 1 and SimBooth 2 by intended use, structure, flooring and room planning, including how to verify the dimensions of your quoted version.

SimBooth 1 is the smaller option for a residential shortlist. SimBooth 2 is the larger option and is promoted by the manufacturer for spaces where repeated assembly and disassembly may matter. The useful comparison starts with the exact plan supplied for the version in your quote.

This matters because published SimBooth dimensions vary between current manufacturer references and the configurations described in our catalog. Do not use a model name alone as an installation drawing. If the fit is close, obtain the matching technical plan before committing to room construction or a purchase.

What the two packages have in common

Both listings describe an aluminum structure, rigid black panels, an impact screen, a full-surface floor and a hitting surface. They form the physical bay. A complete simulator still needs an appropriate launch monitor, computer or supported device, software and projection equipment unless those are expressly included in the selected configuration.

A raised floor also changes the effective ceiling height. Measure from the finished standing and hitting surfaces, not just from the room's original floor. This matters for both the golfer's swing and any overhead launch monitor.

Use the published dimensions as a version check

The differences above were present when checked on October 10, 2026. They are a reason to confirm the supplied version, not a reason to average the measurements or choose whichever number fits the room. Screen dimensions and room recommendations also differ between published references.

Ask the quote to identify the technical-plan revision and confirm outside width, height, floor depth, visible screen area and required assembly clearance. The same document should establish the configuration's wall style and any projector beam. Treat those confirmed measurements as the planning basis.

SimBooth 1 vs SimBooth 2 in a home

SimBooth 1 deserves a place on the shortlist when the enclosure's height or width is the binding constraint. That does not mean a room only as tall or wide as the enclosure is adequate for golf. The golfer stands outside some of the enclosure's protected volume and still needs a full swing envelope.

SimBooth 2 becomes relevant when the larger structure and screen configuration fit comfortably. Avoid using “bigger screen” as the only upgrade argument. Work out the visible projected image and the lens position, and check that the additional structure does not consume an important walkway or interfere with a ceiling obstruction.

For either model, mark the full floor outline in tape. Include the entrance route, seating, storage and equipment positions. If the room also serves another purpose, physically walk through that second use before finalizing the configuration.

A seasonal or shared facility has another decision

The manufacturer positions SimBooth 2 for repeated assembly and disassembly. If that feature matters, ask how the chosen configuration is taken apart, what remains assembled and where the components are stored. Include the labor and storage space in the comparison.

Occasional teardown is different from daily retraction. A rigid enclosure with removable parts should not be treated as a screen that disappears at the press of a button. Write down how often the room changes purpose and how much setup time is acceptable.

Check the equipment layout with the enclosure drawing

The impact screen's width is not enough to choose a projector. Confirm visible image dimensions and calculate the lens distance for the actual aspect ratio. If a beam or ceiling mount is included, check that its adjustment range accommodates the lens you select.

For an overhead launch monitor, compare mounting height and fore-aft position against the enclosure roof, screen and finished floor. For a portable or radar monitor, mark the required floor position and tracking distances. Do not assume that a physical enclosure package guarantees compatibility with every monitor.

What to request in a complete quote

Ask for the exact enclosure configuration and drawing, delivery dimensions, assembly needs, included hitting surface, selected projection equipment and any optional beam. List electronics and software separately. Then ask for confirmation that the proposed combination fits the measured room.

Choose SimBooth 1 or SimBooth 2 once that plan is coherent. If your room has only an inch or two of apparent clearance, resolving the version-specific measurements is the purchase decision not a detail to sort out during installation.
