The SurfThing SG3-5602, SurfThing SG3-5702, SurfThing SG3-5702Ti and SurfThing SG3-5802 are four different hardware configurations, not simply four versions of the same “4K-ready” label. Select the computer against your launch-monitor software, simulator, cameras and intended display resolution.
The main decision is whether you need a basic 1080p configuration, more graphics capability, more graphics memory or a CPU upgrade as well. The specification table identifies those changes. It is not a frame-rate benchmark.
Compare the current listed configurations
| Model | Processor | Graphics card and VRAM | System RAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SG3-5602 | Core Ultra 5 225F | RTX 5060, 8GB | 16GB | 1TB NVMe SSD |
| SG3-5702 | Core Ultra 5 225F | RTX 5070, 12GB | 32GB | 2TB NVMe SSD |
| SG3-5702Ti | Core Ultra 5 225F | RTX 5070 Ti, 16GB | 32GB | 2TB NVMe SSD |
| SG3-5802 | Core Ultra 7 265F | RTX 5080, 16GB | 32GB | 2TB NVMe SSD |
These are the configurations in our current listings. Check the final order specification because computer components and available builds can change. VRAM is the graphics card's memory; system RAM is a separate resource. A computer with 32GB of RAM does not have 32GB of graphics memory.
SG3-5602 vs SG3-5702: more than a GPU change
This step changes the graphics card, increases VRAM from 8GB to 12GB, doubles system memory and doubles storage. It keeps the listed processor model the same. That makes the 5702 worth considering when your proposed workflow needs more memory and space as well as more graphics capability.
The 5602 belongs on a 1080p shortlist after checking the current requirements of the actual software. Do not promise a frame rate simply because the display is 1080p: camera capture, analysis software and the course scene can all affect the workload.
If you plan to keep recorded lessons or multiple course installations, estimate their storage needs before deciding that a 1TB drive is sufficient. Operating-system space, applications and free working capacity must also fit on that drive.
SG3-5702 vs SG3-5702Ti: identify the graphics requirement
The listed CPU, system memory and storage stay the same. The Ti model changes the GPU and increases VRAM from 12GB to 16GB. It is a more focused graphics upgrade than the step from 5602 to 5702.
This distinction is useful when a software feature specifies a particular graphics-memory requirement. Check that exact requirement rather than assuming an RTX model number alone confirms compatibility. Also confirm support for the current GPU generation in any specialist analysis software.
Do not expect a graphics upgrade to fix a problem caused by USB bandwidth, an unsupported CPU configuration or an incorrectly connected launch monitor. Identify the limiting requirement before spending more.
SG3-5702Ti vs SG3-5802: CPU and GPU both change
The 5802 adds the listed Ultra 7 processor and RTX 5080 graphics. Both models list 16GB VRAM, 32GB system memory and a 2TB SSD. The higher tier therefore does not add graphics-memory capacity in this comparison; it changes the processing hardware and cooling configuration.
Consider it when the combined workflow warrants that hardware. A simple single-screen practice station should be assessed differently from a station running course simulation, video capture and analysis simultaneously. Ask for the manufacturer's compatibility guidance at the intended resolution and settings.
The other three pairings
| Pair | What the larger jump adds |
|---|---|
| 5602 vs 5702Ti | GPU and VRAM upgrade, plus more system memory and storage; same listed CPU |
| 5602 vs 5802 | CPU and GPU changes, plus more memory and storage |
| 5702 vs 5802 | CPU and GPU changes, and 12GB to 16GB VRAM; same listed RAM and storage capacity |
Build a workload checklist before choosing a tier
List every program that will run at the same time. Include the launch-monitor application, course software, swing cameras, video analysis and any streaming or recording tool. For each, record its current recommended specifications and required connections.
Then draw the physical connections. Identify projector and touch-display outputs, launch-monitor Ethernet or USB, camera ports and the internet connection. Several free USB sockets do not necessarily guarantee enough bandwidth for every camera combination. Confirm the intended connection layout with the hardware provider.
Rendering a 3840 × 2160 image involves four times the pixels of 1920 × 1080. That arithmetic explains why the resolution plan matters; it does not predict the frame rate of these four computers. We have not benchmarked them under an identical golf workload.
Software setup is different from a software license
Installation or activation assistance does not itself include every simulation subscription. Price your required software and renewals separately, and confirm which accounts or licenses must be supplied before setup. Keep a record of the chosen configuration and installed applications for future support.
Use the four product pages above for current offers. Send the monitor model, software, desired resolution and camera count with your shortlist. Those details let the choice follow a real workload rather than a vague promise of future-proof performance.
