SIGPRO Flooring with putting cups and an integrated hitting area in a finished golf simulator room.

SIG Landing Pad vs SIGPRO Flooring: What Should You Buy?

Compare SIG landing pads with SIGPRO Flooring by included components, footprint and floor height. Choose the right scope for your hitting station.

Choose a SIG landing pad when you need turf between the screen and a separate hitting mat. Choose SIGPRO Flooring when you want an integrated floor with a hitting area and putting cups. They solve different parts of the room, so comparing their prices as if they were interchangeable can leave your build incomplete.

Our SIG8 landing pad, SIG10 landing pad and SIG12 landing pad are separate products. The SIGPRO Flooring listing offers layouts for all three enclosures.

What are you actually buying?

Landing pad and full flooring: compare the job, then the price
Decision SIG landing pad SIGPRO Flooring
Main role Turf covering the area between the screen and a separate hitting mat. An integrated floor system combining a hitting area with a putting surface.
Hitting surface Plan a separate strike mat or supported hitting assembly. A replaceable hitting area is part of the system; verify the exact supplied strip in the current configuration.
Putting Turf surface; the landing-pad listings do not include a four-cup floor system. Four putting cups are listed with the flooring system.
Listed height 3/8 inch 2.375 inches
Best starting situation You have, or deliberately want, a separate hitting mat. You want to specify the hitting and putting layout as one floor.

A landing pad is not the intended place to make full golf strikes. Use the dedicated hitting surface specified for the build. Neither option includes the enclosure, projector, launch monitor or software simply because those items appear in an installation photograph.

Compare footprints before comparing totals

Published IGK dimensions; width × depth
Enclosure family Landing pad SIGPRO Flooring
SIG8 8 ft 2 in × 8 ft 9 ft 8 in × 15 ft 6 in
SIG10 10 ft 6 in × 8 ft 11 ft 7 in × 15 ft 6 in
SIG12 12 ft × 9 ft 13 ft 6 in × 15 ft 6 in

These figures describe the products, not minimum room dimensions. A pad leaves the separate hitting station to be planned. A full flooring layout extends well beyond the front of an enclosure and may require more width than the enclosure frame itself.

For a SIG10 example, the landing pad covers 84 square feet: 10.5 × 8. The listed full flooring footprint is approximately 179.5 square feet: 11.5833 × 15.5. The second number is larger because it covers a different scope, including the integrated hitting and putting area. It is not evidence that one product is twice as useful.

Use a landing pad when the hitting station is already decided

If you already have a suitable mat and a ball position that works, the matching pad can finish the area in front of it. Your remaining work is to check the transition, the pad's footprint and the relationship between the ball and screen.

Consider a 1.75-inch-high hitting mat next to a 0.375-inch landing pad. The difference is 1.375 inches. Adding the pad does not automatically create a flush surface. Decide how the edge will be finished and whether your intended putting path needs a level transition.

That example describes a height calculation, not a certified combination of products. Use the mounting and flooring requirements of the chosen equipment, including any launch monitor's relationship to ball height.

Use SIGPRO Flooring when you want the integrated layout

A full floor is more compelling when you want the hitting area and putting cups planned together. Check the overall layout before buying it for appearance alone: doors, storage access, the hitting point and other equipment still have to coexist with the installed floor.

The listed 2.375-inch height also changes the player's position under the ceiling. A room with 108 inches from its existing floor to the ceiling would have approximately 105.625 inches above the raised playing surface if the player stands on flooring of that height. That arithmetic does not decide whether a particular golfer can swing there; it gives you the correct starting measurement.

The exact hitting insert supplied with the floor is an order detail worth confirming. Product descriptions and configurations can change. Ask for the current strip model and replacement route on the quote instead of assuming that every SIGPRO flooring version uses the same strike surface.

Compare two complete shopping lists

Landing-pad route: the matching pad, a suitable hitting mat or strike assembly, any required base, edge transitions and any separate putting accessories you want. If the hitting mat is already owned and suitable, count that as existing equipment rather than buying it again.

Full-floor route: the selected SIGPRO floor layout, the supplied hitting strip and cups, any required preparation and the finishing work needed in your room. Check optional accessories separately.

Then compare the delivered totals and the resulting layout. The lower-cost route is the one that completes your actual plan for less, not necessarily the one with the lower individual product price.

Three situations that make the decision clearer

You already like your hitting mat

Start with the landing pad matching your enclosure. Check its edge against the mat and the total room layout. There is little reason to discard a suitable hitting station solely to fill the floor in front of it.

You want putting cups and a coordinated floor

Start with the appropriate SIGPRO Flooring layout. Check its complete footprint and finished height before choosing the enclosure or committing to a hitting position.

The room has an awkward doorway or irregular footprint

Draw the obstruction against both options. A matching product name does not prove a clear route through the room. You may need a different layout or a separately specified custom floor rather than forcing either standard choice to fit.

Before placing the order

  1. Identify the exact enclosure family: SIG8, SIG10 or SIG12.
  2. Draw the chosen floor product's full width and depth, plus the separate mat if applicable.
  3. Record the height at the player's feet, ball and launch monitor.
  4. Confirm the hitting surface, cups and optional parts included in the selected configuration.
  5. Check the completed cost and access through the room.

If you need turf in front of a separate mat, select the SIG8, SIG10 or SIG12 landing pad. If your room supports the integrated layout, compare SIGPRO Flooring options and current price.
