For VTrack error 1001, verify the dedicated PC network connection before repeating calibration. Record where the process fails: adapter selection, device connection, camera view or calibration. Keeping those observations separate makes the next test easier to choose.

Where does the failure occur?

Use the earliest failed stage to choose the next check
Observation Check next Keep unchanged for now
The expected adapter is absent The PC network-card model, driver and physical port. Ball position and course-software settings.
The adapter appears but VTrack does not connect Cable route, the selected adapter and its network configuration. Calibration-board position.
A connection is shown but no camera image appears Camera-data availability, adapter settings and application permissions. The enclosure and hitting mat layout.
The camera image is available but calibration fails The exact error, calibration-board orientation and the current installation procedure. A network configuration already verified to work.
Native shots register but do not reach course software The separate simulator integration. The working device connection and calibration.

This is a test order, not a list of guaranteed causes. Save the exact error text or a screenshot. “1001 during calibration after connection” is more useful than “VTrack does not work.” If the unit connects and calibrates but cannot find a ball, use the ball-detection checks instead.

Check the network card and direct cable

The LAON error-1001 notice dated January 20, 2026 specifies a direct VTrack-to-PC connection, bypassing routers and switches. It recommends the supplied Cat6 cable or Cat6-or-higher replacement and a Jumbo Packet-capable adapter. Intel PRO/1000 EXPI9301CT is the named recommendation; generic USB Ethernet adapters are not the supported substitute in that notice.

At the unit, the notice identifies red as the power indication and blinking green as network activity. Record both. Activity alone is not proof that camera data is reaching the application.

Write down the adapter model shown in Windows and identify which physical port the VTrack cable uses. A PC may have Wi-Fi, an onboard Ethernet adapter and an additional network card. Changing the first adapter in a list can leave the actual VTrack connection untouched.

Verify the settings on the VTrack adapter only

Settings listed in LAON’s error-1001 notice
Setting Published value
PC adapter IPv4 address 172.16.1.100
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Jumbo Packet 9014 Bytes
Receive and transmit buffers Maximum available; 2048 or higher recommended

Save screenshots of the existing settings first. Apply the device-specific address to the adapter connected to VTrack, not the separate connection providing your PC’s internet access. Do not copy an address from an unrelated launch-monitor guide.

If the adapter does not expose the required options, record the card and driver details before proceeding. Do not substitute an undocumented “nearest” value and assume the result is equivalent. Have support confirm the adapter’s suitability.

The SwingCraft setup page places adapter selection in VTrackToolKit under Settings → Device → Network. Select the intended adapter and check the application’s Current Connection state. After any required restart, verify the same adapter is still selected and repeat only the stage that previously failed.

Connection present, but no camera image: what next?

Capture the connection state and the empty camera view in the same report. Note whether the problem began after a software, driver or security-policy change. Check that the installed VTrack application and its components have the network permissions required by the current installation instructions.

If security software reports a block, use an application-specific exception confirmed for the installed software, or have support or your IT administrator review it. Keep protection enabled while investigating. Do not reuse a version-numbered WindowsApps path from an old screenshot: it may identify a different installation.

When an image is available, return to the calibration instructions for your Toolkit and hardware revision. The published setup sequence uses the supplied board with its SCREEN arrow facing the screen. Record whether the image disappears, the board cannot be positioned as shown, or the calibration command returns the error. Those are separate observations.

A useful controlled test changes one item: for example, the identified cable or a documented adapter setting. Record the previous value, the change and the result. Avoid simultaneously moving the unit, replacing the PC and reinstalling software; that removes the evidence needed to identify what mattered.

Keep a short before-and-after test log

Copy these fields for each attempt
Field What to record
Starting state Toolkit version; adapter model/driver; direct-cable arrangement; exact error.
Single change The cable, adapter selection or documented setting changed. Include the previous value.
Connection result Whether the intended adapter connects in Toolkit.
Camera result Image present, absent or interrupted, independently of connection status.
Calibration result Command completed or exact message returned.
Next action Keep the verified change, restore the recorded setting if directed, or request review of the unresolved stage.

Keep the raw screenshots with the log. A summary such as “all network settings checked” cannot show whether the values were applied to the correct adapter. Avoid changing a working household network as part of a device-only test.

How should you report a persistent error 1001?

The VTrackToolKit 2.4.3 issue-reporting guide classifies connection and calibration failures as Non-Data Issue. Use the in-app Report Issue workflow for the installed version, review the attachments and description, and submit only the information relevant to the failure. If calibration never completed, say so rather than attaching unrelated older shots as evidence.

Include the error screenshot, the adapter-settings screenshots, a simple cable-route description and your test log. State the last successful stage and whether the camera image was available. Share order and serial information privately with Indoor Golf Kit support.

For a new VTrack installation, resolve adapter suitability and the dedicated cable route before the PC or ceiling work is finalized. Use the wiring worksheet to record that decision. General mounting dimensions and first-shot setup remain in our main VTrack guide.
