Check VTrack DX10 room fit, PC and Ethernet requirements, then work through hardware installation, calibration and GSPro connection.
VTrack room requirements: check the exact DX10 mounting diagram
Use the hardware manual's measurement references, not a generic “8½ ft ceiling” claim. The DX10 hardware installation manual v1.1 provides a ground-to-ceiling H table from 2,700 to 3,100 mm, approximately 8 ft 10 in to 10 ft 2 in. That table is a documented installation range for that manual, not a promise that every room or hardware revision fits.
The manual pairs each height with an L distance measured from the hitting-zone center toward the screen to the bracket's vertical reference mark. For example, H = 2,850 mm pairs with L = 867 mm. This is not the unit-to-screen distance. Keep the diagram's reference points intact and ask for confirmation if your structure, mat build-up or unit revision differs.
Before ordering the VTrack Launch Monitor, record ceiling and floor levels, finished mat thickness, intended ball position, screen position and any projector or light near the sensor. Check controlled practice swings for every player. An overhead monitor allows a shared hitting area, but it cannot create clearance for a left-handed swing in a room that only fits a right-handed player.
Use the official DX10 v1.1 hardware installation manual for the full height table and drawings. Our VTrack buying checklist covers the other questions to resolve before purchase.
VTrack PC, Ethernet and GSPro: three separate checks
Tracking connection: VTrack's published native requirements specify at least 16 GB RAM, 100 GB of free storage and an Intel PRO/1000-class network adapter, with EXPI9301CT recommended. Confirm the exact adapter and current ToolKit instructions before buying a PC or adapter. A computer that renders GSPro smoothly has not, by that fact alone, passed VTrack's Ethernet requirements.
Simulator graphics: size the computer for the simulator software and intended output resolution as well as VTrack. Running at 4K can change the graphics workload. Check the currently supported operating system and GPU requirements with the software supplier; the monitor's native requirements do not replace them.
Software cost: the VTrack product listing includes a lifetime license for its range software. Third-party course simulation is separate. GSPro lists VTrack among supported launch monitors and has its own paid license. “No annual fee” for the included range does not mean every simulator platform is free.
For GSPro setup, purchase and install the supported software first, then follow the matching VTrack ToolKit Simulator workflow to select GSPro, locate its installation and launch it. Verify a normal shot before changing putting or other tuning settings. If VTrack captures shots but GSPro does not receive them, use our software-connection checklist to isolate the integration.
Do I need marked balls? VTrack ToolKit v2.4.3 release notes state that markerless tracking became the default and the Ball Marker option was removed. Confirm your installed version, and still use the supplied calibration board and the hardware manual's calibration procedure. Normal play and calibration are separate steps.
Keep the installation in three stages
Use the current VTrack setup resources from SwingCraft and the documentation supplied with your unit. Check the hardware revision and supplied calibration equipment before following another owner’s video. Where a product listing, older guide or video conflicts with the current installation instructions, ask for clarification before acting on it.
Hardware: establish the approved mounting geometry using the reference points defined in your hardware manual, documenting the finished hitting surface separately. Follow the supplied bracket and structural-fixing guidance. Check orientation, camera sightlines, projector position and swing clearance together.
Device software: use the official VTrackToolKit installation and connection instructions. Identify the Ethernet adapter that actually connects to the unit and verify the device state before starting calibration. Configure adapter settings only as required by the matching documentation.
Calibration and integration: use the correct calibration board at the documented location. Confirm ball readiness and capture before starting a supported simulator. Then check the simulator selection, integration path and separate license.
For a protective case, check its fit and position without covering sensing areas or restricting ventilation. An accessory that physically fits still needs a tracking check after installation.
VTrack connected but not detecting the ball
Use this check when VTrackToolKit identifies the monitor but does not reach a ball-ready state. First record the ToolKit version and take a screenshot of the device view. Note whether the problem began after changing the hitting mat, moving the ball position, adjusting a light or installing an update. That starting point helps you make a useful comparison after each change.
If the device is missing from ToolKit, or the calibration camera image is unavailable, return to the device connection checks. If a shot appears in VTrack but stops before reaching course software, follow the software connection guide. The procedure below addresses the earlier stage: locating a playable ball.
Check READY and TEE as separate settings
Laon's VTrack Tee Area Setting Guide documents a NON-FIXED workflow for a ball-detection problem. Use its screenshots with the matching ToolKit interface. If your labels or controls differ, obtain the instructions for your installed version before changing them.
- Open Settings, select Device, then open Area Setting.
- Under READY, choose NON-FIXED and press Apply.
- Under TEE, choose NON-FIXED and press Apply.
- Check that both selections remain NON-FIXED and use the final Apply action shown in the guide.
Take a second screenshot after saving. A selection visible while editing is less useful evidence than the setting that remains afterwards. Keep the ball within the installation's documented detection area; a software selection does not establish a new physical hitting location. Complete the calibration procedure that applies to your unit after the change, then check readiness again.
Inspect what the camera sees around the ball
A bright spotlight can wash out the area around the ball in the captured image. If this matches what you see, reduce that light and repeat the readiness check with the ball in the same place. Photograph the before-and-after view. This comparison is more informative than changing the lights, mat and area settings together.
If you recently replaced the mat, include both its previous and current appearance in your notes. The practical question is whether detection changed with that surface. Avoid buying another mat from one unsuccessful attempt. Establish the current calibration and saved area settings first, then ask IGK to review the images if the cause remains unclear.
Once readiness returns, make a short, repeatable shot check using the same ball, club and ball position. Record whether the problem has disappeared or only become less frequent. A ready indicator confirms one stage; consistent shot capture is the next result to verify.
VTrackLink and Swing Replay: verify each stage
Start this section after VTrack reliably captures shots. Treat the optional swing video as its own setup: camera input, live preview, then the replay triggered by a shot. Write down the camera name and connection for each view so that a problem with one feed does not become a series of changes to the whole simulator.
The VTrackToolkit Camera Manual v1.0.1 covers single-camera use and combinations of up to two mobile or USB cameras. Follow the matching instructions for your software. Start with one feed, confirm its behaviour and then add the second.
Bring a phone through pairing and preview
For mobile video, install VTrackLink, allow camera access and put the phone and PC on the same Wi-Fi network. Enable SwingReplay in ToolKit, then scan its QR code from the app's Streaming tab. Look for the LIVE indicator before investigating the picture. A QR code on the PC alone does not demonstrate that the phone has connected.
Check the app's layout against its version. The iOS 1.0.2 release notes report that the separate Settings tab was removed and its options relocated. Use Camera Preview wherever your installed version provides that control. If it is absent, check that version's instructions or send IGK a screenshot instead of looking for the retired tab shown in the manual.
Keep the phone in a stable position while testing. Once paired, check the preview, then take a normal tracked shot and look for the replay. Record the first point where this sequence stops. If one stage has never worked, resolve it before judging the quality or timing of the next stage.
Prove the USB feed before tuning the picture
For a webcam, check that it works in the Windows Camera app, close other camera applications and select the intended device in ToolKit. Laon's troubleshooting guidance recommends a direct USB 3.0 connection and a 1080p/60 fps baseline where supported. Very high frame rates and 4K capture can introduce replay problems. Use a mode supported by your camera and the applicable manual.
Write down the selected mode and port before changing either. If the feed improves, repeat the same movement and shot sequence so you can compare equivalent conditions. A clearer image after several simultaneous changes leaves you without a reliable setup to restore later.
| What you see | Check next | Record the result |
|---|---|---|
| No replay window | Confirm SwingReplay is enabled and VTrack captured the test shot. | Whether the shot and replay appear together. |
| QR scan fails | Confirm the phone and PC share the required Wi-Fi network. | The network used by each device. |
| LIVE, but no app preview | Use Camera Preview if available in your app version; its location can differ from the manual. | The app version and whether the control is present. |
| Webcam absent from the list | Check Windows recognition, the USB port and driver. | The camera name and whether Windows shows its feed. |
| Replay appears but stutters | Check capture mode and connection; use the documented baseline. | Which single change improves the same test. |
For mobile dropouts, Laon recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi, proximity to the router and limiting competing downloads or streams. If one camera works and the second introduces a fault, keep the first camera's settings and test the added feed separately. This narrows the change you need support to investigate.
Keep the settings you confirm with a note identifying each view. The general swing camera guide covers framing and lighting. SwingEZ has its own hardware and installation requirements; successful ToolKit replay establishes only the replay configuration you tested.
Save a useful VTrack troubleshooting report
The ToolKit 2.4.3 Issue Reporting Guide explains the Report Issue wizard. It distinguishes Non-Data Issue, when shots do not register, from Data Issue, when captured shots have incorrect values or delivery problems. Identify the actual ball and affected club, and keep one report focused on that club's symptom.
Use the wizard's Browse Folder control for relevant shot data. The guide sets a 100 MB combined attachment limit. Choose recent examples from the problem session; for a complete detection failure, state that no shot was captured rather than attaching unrelated shots as evidence. Describe the frequency and preceding changes, then review the information, attachments and any consent request before submitting. You can also contact IGK with your version, screenshots and test notes.
For a device-connection problem, include the adapter model and connection screenshot with your report. Do not switch off security protections as a blanket remedy. A targeted setting review with support is more useful than several undocumented changes.
