Identify laser versus GPS behavior, check units and settings, and follow the correct manual for your exact model.

Begin with the type of device

The Laser FIT, TL1 and L6 are laser rangefinders. SL3 combines laser and GPS features. VC4 and VC300SE are voice GPS products. A laser ranging problem and a GPS/course-location problem need different tests, even when they occur on the same hybrid device.

Choose the complete model from Voice Caddie’s manual directory. Do not use a launch-monitor reset procedure on a rangefinder or assume every model has the same app connection.

A laser distance will not settle

Check the power or battery condition and the lens condition using the care instructions. Confirm you are aiming at a suitable target within the model’s stated range and operating conditions. Recheck the selected ranging mode, units and any slope-adjusted display. Compare the same target and the same type of distance rather than mixing adjusted distance with straight-line range.

Do not look toward the sun through the optics or open the device for an internal repair. If a fall or impact preceded the problem, include that information in the support request.

GPS information is missing or wrong

Move outdoors to the conditions specified for satellite reception and allow the model’s documented acquisition process. Confirm the course/hole selection and units. If the device supports course-data or firmware updates, use the exact model’s official update workflow. A GPS product used inside a simulator bay should not be expected to produce normal outdoor course-location behavior.

Check settings before treating the reading as a fault

Record whether the display is showing yards or meters, front/center/back green distance or a measured target, and adjusted or unadjusted distance where applicable. Similar numbers on two devices can describe different reference points.

Prepare a useful support request

Send the model, power state, displayed error, the feature that fails and whether the issue is repeatable outdoors. For a GPS issue, name the course and affected hole when relevant. For a laser issue, describe the target and conditions. Use the manufacturer’s current manual for updates, battery replacement and reset instructions.
