Project Library · Reference design
A wider dedicated room built around the SIG12’s taller screen, VTrack overhead tracking and the BenQ LK936ST. The design keeps a separate hitting mat so the ball position can be established before any full flooring upgrade.
Proposed design by Indoor Golf Kit. This is not a customer installation or an on-site fit certification.
The room and equipment plan
- Reference room (W × D × H)
- 16 ft × 22 ft × 10 ft
- Enclosure / screen
- SIG12 enclosure · Premium White
- Projector
- BenQ LK936ST
- Ball → screen
- 10 ft
- Example lens → screen
- 13 ft
- Screen → front wall
- 1 ft 6 in planning allowance
The enclosure is 9 ft 4 in tall inside a 10 ft finished-height room. Any raised floor or low ceiling obstruction must be included before ordering.
| Dimension | Value and basis |
|---|---|
| Viewable screen used for this plan | 137 in wide × 103 in high |
| Outer frame (W × H) | 146 × 112 in |
| Native 16:9 optical width at that height | 103 × 16 ÷ 9 = 183.11 in |
| Optical throw ratio | 0.81–0.89 |
| Calculated lens-to-screen range | 148.32 in–162.97 in |
| Example lens reference | 156.00 in = 13.00 ft |
| Ball line → rear wall | 10 ft 6 in |
| Frame → side wall, centered | 23 in per side; not a walkway approval |
| VTrack vertical reference from its hardware guide | 2,600–3,000 mm ground to sensor underside; 2,700–3,100 mm ceiling reference for its mounting table. Account for the installed hitting-surface height. |
Room dimensions, screen setback, ball position and example lens position are design assumptions. Frame/screen measurements and optical ratios come from the sources below. Optical distances are lens-to-screen; they do not specify the mounting screw location. For square or 4:3 playing images, the native 16:9 optical frame extends beyond the active width. Set the source image and masking accordingly.
Why this layout is arranged this way
Start with height, even in a wide room
The 146-inch frame width leaves 23 inches on each side in this 16-foot room. Height is tighter: a 112-inch enclosure leaves only 8 inches below a flat 120-inch ceiling before any floor build-up is added. That is geometric space, not a promise of assembly access. Check beams, sprinklers, door mechanisms and the assembly sequence. Measure the lowest finished obstruction, not the highest point in the room.
Use the tall image in the throw calculation
The SIG12 viewable screen is 137 × 103 inches. To use its full height, the projector’s native 16:9 frame is about 183.11 inches wide. The LK936ST ratio of 0.81–0.89 gives a lens range of approximately 148.32–162.97 inches from the screen. The drawing uses 156 inches, or 13 feet. Lens shift can assist alignment within its specified limits, but it does not change that throw-distance range or remove a club-path conflict.
Keep the ball and projector decisions separate
The ball reference is 10 feet from the screen, while the lens reference is 13 feet away. This places the lens 3 feet behind the ball line. Inspect the entire beam and mount in a side view; a top-down plan cannot confirm shadows or head clearance. The VTrack mount uses its own forward-reference table. Set the monitor’s final height relative to the installed hitting surface, including the mat thickness, and keep the camera view clear.
An intentional pause before full flooring
The purchase list includes a standalone mat, not SIGPRO Flooring. This lets you establish the hitting position before committing to a molded floor layout. If you choose SIG12 SIGPRO Flooring instead, its manufacturer footprint is 13 ft 6 in × 15 ft 6 in and its height is 2.375 inches. Replace the standalone mat scope, confirm the included hitting-strip position, and recalculate the enclosure and monitor heights. Do not add the flooring to this list as though it were only decorative turf.
Use the remaining room deliberately
With an 18-inch screen setback and a 10-foot ball reference, this plan leaves 10 ft 6 in behind the ball line. That space is not automatically safe seating. Establish the complete swing and rebound area first, then place storage, a computer station or spectators outside it. A separate putting area can also change the walking route and flooring transitions. The plan leaves those choices open instead of inventing furniture clearances.

Resolve these checks before ordering
- Check the 112-inch enclosure height against every finished ceiling obstruction.
- Verify LK936ST lens shift and optical offset at the proposed 13-foot lens position.
- Confirm the VTrack mounting height after the actual hitting surface is selected.
- If switching to SIGPRO Flooring, replace the mat scope and remeasure all vertical clearances.
Keep a measured room sketch with door openings, ceiling obstructions, floor build-up and the complete swing path. A room that contains the equipment rectangles may still be unsuitable for the intended golfer or installation.
The tools open separately. Enter your own measurements and verify their model assumptions; this reference design is not automatically loaded.
