HomeCourse ProScreen 180, VTrack and a suitable BenQ projector can form a retractable-screen simulator, but the entire system does not disappear when the screen rolls up. The design works when the overhead equipment can remain fixed, the hitting position can be restored accurately and the movable floor pieces have somewhere to go.
This is a component-based reference design and budget. It is not a prebuilt bundle, a promise of universal compatibility or an installed-price quotation.
Decide what stays fixed before choosing the equipment
In this design, the HomeCourse housing, VTrack and ceiling-mounted projector remain in place. The computer occupies a protected fixed location outside the hitting area. The mat, landing pad and any movable net restraints are handled according to the room’s second use.
That arrangement reduces the number of electronics moved between sessions. It also means the stored-room plan must still accommodate an overhead monitor and projector. A garage-door mechanism, car roof accessory or overhead storage rack can matter even when the screen itself is retracted.

| Ball-landing surface | HomeCourse Landing Pad | $250.00 |
| Hitting mat | Carl’s HotShot 4 × 5, Standard Insert | $499.95 |
| Launch monitor | VTrack | $5,000.00 |
| Projector | BenQ AH500ST | $1,999.00 |
| PC | SurfThing SG3-5602 | $2,249.00 |

| Hardware plus first-year license | $12,745.95 |
The landing pad and hitting mat perform different jobs. The 9 × 5-foot HomeCourse pad catches dropping balls; the HotShot is the strike surface. Do not omit the hitting mat because the parts list already contains green turf.
This reference does not include the projector mount, signal/data cables, structural fixings, electrical work, installation, taxes or applicable shipping. Additional protection may be required by the actual room. The supplied screen ceiling kit does not mount the projector or VTrack.
Use these exact listings when checking the order: HomeCourse, side nets, landing pad, HotShot, VTrack, AH500ST and SG3-5602.
The layout has four independent checks
Screen: choose the HomeCourse arm position, usable projected area and protective arrangement. Confirm the housing support and the full movement path. An extended width on a diagram is not automatically the safe room width or usable image width.
Ball and mat: establish the hitting position and a repeatable way to restore it after storage. Include mat thickness in measurements where the monitor’s instructions reference the hitting surface. Changing the mat or adding a platform can change the setup.
VTrack: apply the current mounting height, location and connection instructions for the actual monitor. Do not mount it wherever an unused ceiling space happens to remain after placing the screen and projector.
Projector: calculate from the intended image format and lens position. For example, a 12-foot-wide native 16:9 image gives an AH500ST distance of about 5.99 feet. That is a hypothetical optical example, not a statement that every HomeCourse arm configuration supplies that usable image or that this location clears every swing.
All four checks must pass together. If the correct monitor position and the safe projector location conflict, revise the layout or selected projector before ordering the mounting hardware.
A useful 4K alternative
Substituting the $2,499 LK830ST for the AH500ST adds $500. Substituting the $3,199 SG3-5702 for the SG3-5602 adds $950. With both changes, the hardware-plus-first-year-license subtotal becomes $14,195.95.
The LK830ST remains a close fixed-throw option, but its body, offset and mounting requirements differ from the AH500ST. The SG3-5702 provides a different graphics and memory configuration; verify actual software requirements and desired performance rather than treating the price increase as a guaranteed frame rate.
If the room instead needs a longer zoom range, consider AH700ST for 1080p or AK700ST for 4K. These are alternative layout choices, not extra devices to add to the same order.
Map the connections before hiding the cables
The monitor connects through its supported interface to the computer/software. The PC sends the picture to the projector. HomeCourse operates its own screen mechanism. These are separate functions even though they cooperate in one golf session.
Route the video and data connections so they remain accessible and avoid the screen’s moving parts. Keep the PC ventilated and outside ball and club paths. Confirm required ports and cable lengths using the current monitor and projector documentation before closing a ceiling or wall.
A small secondary display or convenient input device can make the PC easier to operate, but it is not included in the priced list. Add one only if it improves your actual start-up and course-selection routine.
Rehearse the change from parking to playing
Begin with the room in its normal non-golf state. Clear the intended area, restore the mat and ball position, deploy the screen and arrange the protective accessories according to their instructions. Check the screen path and the full swing area before using the simulator.
After the session, reverse the routine and account for every floor item. Store the mat without creating a trip hazard or blocking the screen controls. If this process requires awkward lifting or repeated furniture moves, change the storage plan before treating the build as finished.
For commissioning, test each subsystem before combining them: screen movement, monitor/software connection, video output and image alignment. Then confirm the assembled room layout. This sequence makes a signal problem easier to isolate than changing several devices at once.
Is the overhead monitor retractable with the screen?
No. In this reference design VTrack remains installed. Its position and protection must work in both the golf and non-golf room states.
Can I replace the ceiling kit with the Pro Rack?
The rack is an alternative screen-support route that must pass its own requirements and floor-footprint checks. It does not remove the need to mount VTrack and the projector appropriately. Reprice the screen support and redesign the stored state before substituting it.
Is the total an all-in installed price?
No. It is the itemized hardware and first-year software subtotal shown above. The explicitly listed site work, mounting and other exclusions still need a quote.
Build around a repeatable hitting position and a realistic storage routine. Once those are established, the linked component list gives you a concrete order to review. Use the HomeCourse installation help, VTrack installation guide and HomeCourse projector comparison for the detailed checks.
Source and calculation basis
Indoor Golf Kit component prices checked October 28, 2026, in USD; GSPro licensing and supported monitors, HomeCourse manufacturer information, VTrack manufacturer, and BenQ AH500ST specifications. Current manuals and the selected product variants govern installation and contents.
