A HomeCourse ProScreen 180 reference layout with the side arms forward for an approximately 8 × 8 ft central screen, VTrack overhead tracking and an AH700ST. It shows what retracts and what still occupies the shared room.
Proposed design by Indoor Golf Kit. This is not a customer installation or an on-site fit certification.
The room and equipment plan
- Reference room (W × D × H)
- 16 ft × 22 ft × 10 ft
- Enclosure / screen
- HomeCourse ProScreen 180
- Projector
- BenQ AH700ST
- Ball → screen
- 10 ft
- Example lens → screen
- 11 ft 7.2 in
- Screen → front wall
- 1 ft 6 in planning allowance
This is the forward-arm, square-screen configuration. Opening the arms for the wider presentation changes both the image geometry and the containment plan.
| Dimension | Value and basis |
|---|---|
| Viewable screen used for this plan | 96 in wide × 96 in high |
| Native 16:9 optical width at that height | 96 × 16 ÷ 9 = 170.67 in |
| Optical throw ratio | 0.69–0.83 |
| Calculated lens-to-screen range | 117.76 in–141.65 in |
| Example lens reference | 139.20 in = 11.60 ft |
| Ball line → rear wall | 10 ft 6 in |
| VTrack vertical reference from its hardware guide | 2,600–3,000 mm ground to sensor underside; 2,700–3,100 mm ceiling reference for its mounting table. Account for the installed hitting-surface height. |
Room dimensions, screen setback, ball position and example lens position are design assumptions. Frame/screen measurements and optical ratios come from the sources below. Optical distances are lens-to-screen; they do not specify the mounting screw location. For square or 4:3 playing images, the native 16:9 optical frame extends beyond the active width. Set the source image and masking accordingly.
Why this layout is arranged this way
Choose the arm position before the projector position
This plan uses the central 8 × 8 ft screen with the arms forward. An approximately 96-inch image height needs a native 16:9 optical frame 170.67 inches wide. At 0.69–0.83, the AH700ST lens range is about 117.76–141.65 inches. The illustrated 139.2-inch lens reference sits inside that range. The wider HomeCourse mode changes the useful screen shape; do not reuse the square-image settings and assume the coverage remains identical.
Golf mode has more than a screen footprint
The drawing places the screen plane 18 inches from the front wall and the ball reference 10 feet from the screen. HomeCourse’s deployment, arm movement and mounting hardware need their own measured envelope; the square-screen line in this plan is not the housing’s outside dimension. Measure the actual unit and its moving parts before locating lights, shelves or a garage-door mechanism. Plan side containment and a suitable landing surface for the selected arm position.
Room mode starts with what stays
Retracting the screen leaves the projector, VTrack, mounts, cables and power connections in place. The 4 × 9 ft mat remains a substantial object unless you create a storage location for it. Mark the return position before moving it, protect cables from traffic and verify calibration when the hitting surface changes. Do not park furniture, a vehicle or another hard object in the deployment path. No setup time or parking clearance is assumed by this design.
Mount height is a separate purchase decision
The manufacturer’s approximate 8 ft 6 in mounting guidance is not the same as the 10-foot room height in this example. Resolve the actual mounting level and approved hardware before ordering the installation accessories. The listed screen includes its ceiling mount kit; a wall mount or rack is a different installation route, not an automatic extra to add to every order. The VTrack height must separately satisfy its current physical-installation guide.
Make the changeover repeatable
Create a simple room record: deployed screen position, ball position, mat edges, projector settings and the clear path for moving equipment. Before a golf session, confirm that the screen is fully deployed, containment is correctly positioned and the landing area is clear. After changing the mat or mount, check tracking in the manufacturer’s application before starting a course. The installation guide handles the remote and mechanism; this project defines the room decisions that make shared use practical.

Resolve these checks before ordering
- Measure the complete HomeCourse deployment and retraction envelope.
- Resolve the mounting level and route without double-ordering mounting accessories.
- Reserve a real storage location and return marks if the 4 × 9 ft mat will move.
- Confirm both forward-arm containment and the AH700ST vertical image placement.
Keep a measured room sketch with door openings, ceiling obstructions, floor build-up and the complete swing path. A room that contains the equipment rectangles may still be unsuitable for the intended golfer or installation.
The tools open separately. Enter your own measurements and verify their model assumptions; this reference design is not automatically loaded.
