Check SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12 room fit and package contents, then diagnose screen, surround, bungee and padding mismatches with the exact model manual.

SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12 dimensions and room planning

Separate the enclosure footprint from the recommended playing space. The Indoor Golf Shop publishes the following frame dimensions and room-planning recommendations for these three SIG models. The room columns are starting points; the golfer's swing and chosen launch monitor still need their own checks.

Model Frame W × H × D Recommended room W × length × H
SIG8 8 ft 4 in × 8 ft 4 in × 5 ft 10 ft × 16 ft × 9 ft
SIG10 10 ft 10 in × 8 ft 4 in × 5 ft 12 ft × 18 ft × 9 ft
SIG12 12 ft 2 in × 9 ft 4 in × 5 ft 14 ft × 20 ft × 10 ft

Example: a 12 ft wide room and a SIG10. The 10 ft 10 in frame leaves 14 inches of total width before any additional installation needs: roughly 7 inches per side if centered. That arithmetic describes frame clearance only. It does not prove a centered driver swing, left-handed use or a particular launch monitor will fit. Mark the ball position and check the whole swing before committing to the larger screen.

A SIG12 frame is already 9 ft 4 in high. A 9 ft ceiling therefore cannot accommodate that standard frame, regardless of whether a shorter golfer can swing there. Compare SIG8 versus SIG10 or SIG10 versus SIG12 using the actual room dimensions.

Does the order include flooring, a landing pad or a complete simulator?

Read the selected package contents before adding accessories. The standard SIG enclosure frame uses its own push-pin poles and connectors; the SIG DIY and SIGPRO Commercial ranges have different construction. An enclosure-only order does not establish that a launch monitor, projector, computer or complete floor is included.

  • Landing pad: choose the pad made for the selected SIG size and check the area between screen and hitting mat. A landing surface is not a substitute for a strike insert.
  • Full simulator flooring: review the selected SIGPRO flooring layout, total depth and hitting-strip position. Its footprint extends beyond the enclosure frame.
  • Replacement screen: match the model and finished attachment dimensions. Use the viewable area for projector planning, and the overall screen dimensions for replacement fit.

For a SIG10 layout, the SIG10 landing pad is a separate route from full flooring. Check what your selected package already contains before adding either. Our Studio versus enclosure guide explains the order categories.

Choosing a BenQ projector? Use the screen's viewable width, height and aspect ratio in our BenQ-for-SIG planning guide. The enclosure's outside width is not the projected image width.

Match the delivered parts before fitting the fabric

Sort cartons into frame, screen, surround/protection and optional flooring or accessories. Match the size labels before opening assembly bags. Photograph a damaged carton and keep its shipping label associated with the affected component.

Use the parts list and assembly sequence for your exact model. The standard SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12 manuals are linked in the model table below. For a DIY or Commercial configuration, obtain its own instructions before organizing hardware or sourcing pipes.

SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12: when the screen holes do not match the surround

Some offset between the screen’s grommets and the black surround’s grommets is expected in the standard SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12 assemblies. All three assembly manuals explicitly show that only some holes align. That observation alone does not establish a wrong screen. Check each layer’s attachment to the frame before stretching the fabric to make two holes meet.

Check the layers independently

The manuals orient the surround with its hook-and-loop fastening strips facing inward and its grommeted edge toward the back. The impact screen has its own attachment sequence. For the screen, the illustrated starting points are the four corners, with the bungee cords passing through the grommets and around the frame, and their balls positioned outside the enclosure.

The SIG10 manual also expressly puts the surround’s bungee balls on the inside. Distinguish that surround instruction from the screen instruction. Keep the relevant diagram visible while checking an attachment so that “inside” and “outside” refer to the same fabric layer throughout the inspection.

Check the observed mismatch before changing the fabric

Use the color key for your exact frame

A SIG10 video can help you recognize the assembly stages, but the color combinations are not identical across the three sizes. For example, the manuals show these different pairings in the rear lower crosspiece:

One documented joint example; follow the complete model diagram
Standard enclosure Joined ends in the rear lower crosspiece Assembly manual
SIG8 Blue single stripe to purple double stripe Open the SIG8 manual
SIG10 Orange single stripe to yellow double stripe Open the SIG10 manual
SIG12 Red single stripe to brown double stripe Open the SIG12 manual

These examples help identify a model mismatch in the instructions being followed. They do not identify every pole in the kit. Match the remaining joints with the complete drawing, including single and double stripes. The manuals also call for checking that the snap buttons fully engage before the later fabric stages add weight to the structure.

Finish the screen attachment before assessing pad fit

The documented padding arrangement has two longer pieces along the top and bottom and two shorter pieces along the sides. The pads attach to the screen’s hook-and-loop strips after the screen has been hung. If a pad appears misplaced, first identify its intended edge and the fastening strip beneath it. Extra pulling on the screen is an unreliable way to diagnose a misplaced pad.

Inspect the same corner from the front and rear. A front photograph may show a tidy pad while concealing an attachment that is difficult to compare with the manual. If you cannot see the relevant connection clearly, take another photograph with that connection visible and keep the surrounding fabric in the frame.

If the parts still disagree with the instructions

Send our support team the enclosure model, the manual being followed, the pole colors and a photograph of the specific joint or fabric attachment. State whether the issue appeared before hanging the screen or only after attaching the surround or padding. That sequence helps isolate the component requiring attention. Once the documented assembly agrees with the hardware, investigate any remaining excessive rebound separately from cosmetic screen alignment.

Before use

Check protected frame edges, side/top coverage and all intended player positions. Confirm the launch monitor’s hitting zone independently from the enclosure’s nominal width. Stop if the screen rebounds aggressively, exposes hard frame sections or appears to contact a firm surface behind it.

Curtains, ceiling tracks, valances, blackout screens, baffles and wall panels solve different problems. A blackout layer is not automatically an impact-rated safety barrier. Use each component for its stated purpose.
