Project Library · Reference design

A wide C-Series Pro reference layout pairing the LK830ST with VTrack. Moving the ball reference to 12 feet creates useful separation between a very short-throw projector and the monitor’s forward mounting reference.

Proposed design by Indoor Golf Kit. This is not a customer installation or an on-site fit certification.

The decision to resolve first

This design is for the listed C-Series 8.5 × 14.5 × 5 ft Pro variant. Confirm its supplied drawing; dimensions from a different Pro generation are not interchangeable.

Dimension Value and basis
Viewable screen used for this plan 171 in wide × 96.2 in high
Outer frame (W × H) 181.8 × 107 in
Native 16:9 optical width at that height 96.2 × 16 ÷ 9 = 171.02 in
Optical throw ratio 0.496 (fixed)
Calculated lens-to-screen range 84.83 in
Example lens reference 84.83 in = 7.07 ft
Ball line → rear wall 8 ft 6 in
Frame → side wall, centered 17.1 in per side; not a walkway approval
VTrack vertical reference from its hardware guide 2,600–3,000 mm ground to sensor underside; 2,700–3,100 mm ceiling reference for its mounting table. Account for the installed hitting-surface height.

Room dimensions, screen setback, ball position and example lens position are design assumptions. Frame/screen measurements and optical ratios come from the sources below. Optical distances are lens-to-screen; they do not specify the mounting screw location. For square or 4:3 playing images, the native 16:9 optical frame extends beyond the active width. Set the source image and masking accordingly.

Why this layout is arranged this way

The conflict this layout is designed to expose

A full-height 96.2-inch image gives the LK830ST a lens distance of about 84.83 inches from the screen. If the ball were only 10 feet from the screen, the VTrack reference at roughly 3,050 mm ceiling height would sit about 83.39 inches from the screen. Those reference points would be only about 1.44 inches apart. They are not the full device outlines, but they are close enough to reject that arrangement without a detailed ceiling drawing.

What moving the ball actually changes

This project moves the ball reference to 12 feet while keeping the same screen size and lens distance. Using the same 930 mm VTrack forward-reference illustration, its bracket reference becomes approximately 107.39 inches from the screen. That creates about 22.56 inches between the reference points. This is an improvement, not a clearance approval: compare the projector housing, monitor body, brackets, ventilation and camera view before drilling. A beam or mount can still rule out the arrangement.

Why this exact Pro variant is specified

The C-Series reference dimensions are 181.8 inches wide and 107 inches high, with a 171 × 96.2-inch viewable screen. The selected store variant has a five-foot enclosure depth, and its pipe kit matches that depth. The wider 18-foot room leaves 17.1 inches on each side of the centered frame. A quote for a redesigned Pro model or a deeper enclosure requires its own drawing and pipe list; do not carry these measurements across automatically.

Account for the distance gained at the front

The 18-inch screen setback plus the 12-foot ball reference puts the ball line 13 ft 6 in from the front wall. In a 22-foot-deep room, 8 ft 6 in remains behind it. Moving the ball back has traded rear room space for ceiling-device separation. Check the backswing, doorway and any computer station against that new position. A floor-based launch monitor or a different projector could lead to another layout; this plan specifically evaluates the VTrack/LK830ST combination.

Confirm the vertical view before the order is final

The LK830ST has a fixed optical relationship between its lens and image. The top-down reference does not prove that its lens can sit at your available ceiling height while filling the screen correctly. Check the model’s vertical offset, mount drop and projection direction in a side elevation. Verify the VTrack underside height after the mat is installed, and check that the projector and its cabling do not obscure tracking. These are the two measurements to resolve before selecting mounts.

Resolve these checks before ordering

  1. Confirm the supplied C-Series drawing matches the 107 × 181.8-inch variant.
  2. Plot complete device and bracket outlines around the two ceiling references.
  3. Check the LK830ST vertical offset against screen height and mount drop.
  4. Rehearse swings from the 12-foot ball reference and confirm the rear access route.

Keep a measured room sketch with door openings, ceiling obstructions, floor build-up and the complete swing path. A room that contains the equipment rectangles may still be unsuitable for the intended golfer or installation.

The tools open separately. Enter your own measurements and verify their model assumptions; this reference design is not automatically loaded.
